"Crinoid Bird"

A bird carved from Anderson Bay marble from Texada Island in BC. This purplish red marble is embedded with small ancient marine life called "crinoids". One can be seen acting like a big eye on the birds head.

When held in the hand it feels like holding a bird. Granted, a heavy bird than normal!
